Butterfly Tag

I was just playing around and made this butterfly tag. I love the way it turned out. I kraft colored cardstock and inked it with different colors just using ink pads. I gold embossed the edges, stamped and clear embossed. Then I embossed the whole card with a stampin up embossing plate on my spellbinder. Of course I had to use some copper metal as I love it and made the butterflies on the spellbinder and alcohol inked them as well and put some gold emboss. Oh and I can't forget, I glimmer misted just lightly on the top to give the whole thing some shimmer. 

Gift Bags

I made these two gift bags the perfect size for gift cards, so they are small. I love the way they turned out. I started with just plain white paper and glimmer misted them both to get the beautiful vibrant colors I was hoping for. Oh how I love that glimmer mist.

The butterfly was made from copper sheets and I used the spellbinder to cut it and emboss it. I then alcohol inked it and clear embossed then pearl silver embossed. 

The dragonfly was done with copper sheets as well and cut with the spellbinder. Again, alcohol inked and embossed with gold emboss powder. Love, love, love how it looks.

My Daughter's Jewelry Box

My daughter just turned 3, but she has already accumulated some cute jewelry. I wanted to find a cute jewelry box like when I was young, but couldn't find the right thing. I decided to make her one. I found these wood boxes at Michael's for $1. They are about 6"x9". I started by painting, but painted it a few times before I found the color I liked. The I found the right paper, and inked and added of course some glimmer mist. The grass is with brown ink, then clear embossed.

I glimmer misted lace to match the box.

 The butterfly is made on the spellbinder with silver aluminum. I alcohol inked, painted, then stickled. 

I covered the inside with paper, modge podged the whole box, then glimmer misted it.

Oh what fun to make this for my daughter. I can't wait to make more things for her and then someday, maybe she will be joining me!

Glimmer Mist Class

I taught this class to a group that takes turns teaching a monthly class. I loved putting this album together because I got to get very glimmer mist messy. I got the idea from Tricia Morris at TV Weekly, her "Circle of Life" design. I changed it up some, but it is a fun album to put together.  The entire album has glimmer mist, so you could make it basically any color you want. It was fun to see how each student changed their's to make it their own.

The inside consisted of 10 pages. I put pictures of my daughters in it, but used black and white photos. I then photoshopped the photos to leave just a tad of color to to add just a touch to the album.

I love these trees. I inked the background before stamping and added stickles. I loved the outcome.

I love how glimmer mist looks on lace. It really can make it look so dramatic. I alcohol inked the button and birds because they were gold and it didn't work well with the layout.

I stamped the background. Used clear emboss. Then I brayed over with ink and then some mist. It is a fun affect because the ink and mist won't stay on the embossed part. I just wiped that part off. I also glimmer misted the bird. Glimmer mist is great on chipboard, it absorbs the colors and really brings out the brightness.

I used my spellbinder to emboss the butterfly, then sprayed some glimmer mist on the mat and just ran the butterfly through it. It only got the top embossed part. I also masked this page along with the front and back covers.

I embossed the circles on my spellbinder and made a tree. 

I stamped the images with green ink, then colored in with copic markers (boy do I love these markers). Then, I went over the image again with versamark and clear embossed. Again, glimmer misted and wiped the image clean. 

Every page including the front, back and inside covers were made of plain white paper. The only decorative paper was on the inside and outside spine. Goes to show what fun glimmer mist can be!

Happy Birthday Card

I whipped up this card and really liked that outcome. The clown stamp is from the Playful set from Oxford Impressions. I alcohol inked the page minus a circle and embossed the clown and wording. I glittered it up a bit. 

50 Reasons Why I Love You

I gave this gift to my gorgeous and handsome husband of 5 years. I had so much fun making it because it really gave me a chance to reflect on our relationship and how much I love him.  I used a 5x7 deck of cards I found for the base of the card. I then made the case out of cardstock. I love the way it turned out and my husband was very happy to receive it. 

Fun corner bookmarks

I saw this bookmark idea from a fellow crafter and thought it would be a fun gift for the mom's on Mother's Day. I also made book bags for each of them with the girls little handprints on them and then bought some iron on printer paper and put their pics on the other side. I also got to use my coveted Beadazzler (just kidding about the coveted part, but it works awesome on canvas).



This one I used glimmer mists and lace. I got a ton of lace from somewhere ready to throw it out and after glimmer misting it, thought it looked great. These pics don't do it justice as the glimmer doesn't show.


I embossed on the spellbinder, added my Maya Road chipboard, glimmer misted the whole thing including the bird and wing. Aren't those colors amazing with the mist. Then chalked the embossed paper for the overall look. Loved the final product for all 3.

I had to make my close friend Julia one for her birthday as she is an avid book reader and she told me that no one has ever made her anything. Unfortunately, this was all I was able to do due to remodeling and chaos in the house, but know she will love the thought.

This fits perfectly on a book. Better than my scraps that I usually throw in there.

Mother's Day Card

I made this card for my mom, aunt and mother-in-law. Again, used my cuttlebug emboss plate on the spellbinder and then I chalked over it. I loved the final look. I tried to match the card to the bookmarks that I made them.

Thank You Card Swap

This is a card I made for a Thank you card swap with some girlfriends. I made matching envelopes which turned out disastrous because I cut the paper the wrong size and had to start all over including the background paper for the card. The final product turned out great and had fun with some shimmerz and copic pens. I also used my cuttlebug emboss plate with my new Spellbinder which I LOVE! This card opens up to a tri-fold card and keeps it closed with the ribbon.

Christmas Tag Swap

This was a tag I used for a swap. I used alcohol inks, tim holtz stamp and embossed the Merry Christmas. I love that you can get a different look with every tag with the alcohol inks.
